If you frequently record similar types of transactions to different matters, the easiest way is to do this in the Transactions folder, which displays all transaction entries regardless of the matter. Select a suitable view and use the Transaction Date filter to limit the list, for example, to only the entries from the current week.
With the New button, you create a new transaction using an empty transaction window, and with the Use as Template function you can base the new entry on an earlier one:
Select Whole Transaction if you want to copy all transaction details as the basis for the new entry and then edit them as needed. The function copies all details except the hour price, which is always determined by the current pricing information, and the Total field, which is recalculated using the current hour price.
Select Matter Only if you want to copy only the matter information from a previous transaction.
If you often record the same transactions, you can mark them as favorites, making it faster to reuse the same text template:
- Mark a transaction as a favorite by placing the cursor over it in the transaction list and choosing Add to favorites from the ribbon.
- Set the Favorites view in the Transactions folder as the default using the star icon. This ensures it opens automatically whenever you enter the folder. You can also pin
the view to the top bar of the main program window, so you can access it directly with one click.
- After these settings, you can quickly find your favorite transactions and select one as the basis for new entries via the Use as Template button.
