If a customer has been deactivated, they are still included by default in all searches. To target a search specifically to deactivated customers, enter a keyword in the Search field and select the view Deactivated Companies and Associations / Private Persons.
Restrictions for deactivated customers are as follows:
- You cannot create a conflict check for deactivated customers.
- You cannot create a matter request for deactivated customers. If the customer was deactivated after the matter request was created, a matter can still be created from the request, but the software will notify you that the principal is deactivated.
- A deactivated customer cannot be selected as a principal in a matter.
- You cannot create a sales opportunity for a deactivated customer. If the customer was deactivated after the opportunity was saved, it cannot be converted into a matter request or matter.
- A deactivated corporate customer cannot be selected in the Customer field of a private person or as a parent company for another corporate customer.
- A deactivated private person cannot be selected as the primary contact or invoicing contact for a customer or party.
You can reactivate an deactivated customer using the Activate button. This will restore the customer to active status and remove the deactivation reason and date from their record.
