Customer contacts are inherited for their matters but contacts can also be specified for each party in the matter. The primary contact for the matter is the customer’s main contact for the matter. The invoicing contact is the customer’s primary contact for invoicing-related topics, and this can also be printed on the invoice.
To specify matter-specific contacts:
- Open the matter, go to the Parties folder, and double-click the party row.
- If the person serving as the primary contact of the matter is already saved in the software:
- Enter the contact’s name or part of it in the Primary Contact field and press Enter to display a list from which you can select the contact.
- Or search by selecting the magnifying glass in the Primary Contact field to target the search more precisely.
- If the customer’s contact has not yet been added to the software, you can add it in the Look Up Records (data selection) window with the New button. Remember to select a value to the Customer field for the new contact so that the contact is also saved in the customer’s information. You can easily access the customer’s information via the link in the Party field.
- Add the invoicing contact for the matter in the same way.
- Save and close.
Contacts specified for the matter are always saved in the software as private persons linked to the company. All contact information can be found in the Private Persons folder in the Customers area.
