The software allows you to manage different types of matters:
- Handle standard billable customer matters
- Split larger customer matters into main and sub-matters, making them easier to manage
- Define subscription-priced matters, where work is recorded normally but always invoiced at a fixed periodic price
- Handle insider matters related to corporate arrangements, which are visible only to insiders
- Create matters protected by access rights, restricting visibility to certain user groups
- Create internal matters for tracking administrative work, such as time spent on training
When opening a matter, you can perform necessary conflict checks, identifications, and pricing, define the team involved in handling the matter, and assign tasks to team members. In CSI Lawyer, you can also open a matter using a matter request.
By default, all users of the software have the right to open new matters, but the power user can restrict this right to specific user groups.
