You can also create a new matter using an existing matter as a template. This makes it easier to open new matters for regular customers, such as annual general matters.
To create a new matter using a template, select a matter from the matter list and click the “Use Matter as Template” button on the ribbon.
The software warns that copying the matter may take time if the template contains a lot of information.
The following information is copied from the old matter as a template for the new one:
- All basic information (principal, contact, subject, type, business unit, business area, language, internal matter info, DAC6, owner, responsible person, assistant, invoicing contact, seller, court)
- The subject field of the copied matter includes the text “copy”
- Pricing definitions (fixed price info and fixed price, price limit and price alert limit, credit limit, currency, invoice subject, exceptional VAT handling, cost center, sales account, service restriction, description, and non-billable setting)
- Lists (parties with info and roles, team members with info (except for the primary phase), role pricing, transaction types, and review process)
- Matter parameters (transaction parameters, pricing, role/user price list, general expense, invoicing period, preliminary invoice, and service restriction alert)
- Any customized fields (except those set to be fetched based on classification)
By default, the current day is set as the receiving and opening date.
You can edit the matter subject and other copied information as needed and then save the new matter.
