How does the new CSI Mobile differ from the previous one
The new CSI Mobile offers a lot of functionality compared to the previous version. To familiarize
yourself with its functionality, please see the CSI Mobile Functionality Overview and CSI Mobile
User Guide documents.
However, the main difference between the new and the former mobile application is technology. We
have developed new CSI Mobile using the latest modern technologies to provide a secure and stable
tool to use some key functions of the CSI software. It utilizes the CSI API (application programming
interface) that allows different software components to communicate with each other, e.g., by
requesting data and actions. The same CSI API will be used for all future CSI software products.
Thus, when taking the new CSI Mobile into use your office also needs to be activated in the CSI API.
It sets a few CSI software related prerequisites to all CSI customers. In case you use the CSI
software as OnPremise (having the CSI database on your own server environment), you need to
take some more actions.
The admin for CSI Mobile (CSI API) should be a CSI power user having access to the CSI software
settings. If possible, we recommend selecting to this role a CSI power user with good IT skills.
