To avoid opening unnecessary matters in the software, it is recommended to perform conflict checks and identify customers in the roles of principal and payer already at the matter request stage. However, missing these checks does not prevent the creation of a matter from the matter request, as they can also be performed in the matter.
Conflict Check
Once all parties to the matter request have been saved, you can perform a conflict check by selecting “Perform Conflict Check” from the ribbon.
This opens a list of all customers who may cause a conflict due to their roles in the matter. The software also shows the roles customers have had in other matters. After saving the conflict check, you can send it by email, for example, to partners or all staff. This ensures that another, not yet recorded matter does not cause a conflict. After this confirmation, you can either approve or reject the conflict check.

Customer Identification
Customer identification can also be performed at the matter request stage. The link to identification remains when the matter request is converted to a matter.
If the power user has enabled customer identification features in the settings, the software creates an identification entry in the Customer Identifications folder for all parties requiring identification when the matter request is saved. Read more about customer identification here.
NOTE! If the CSI software is integrated with a separate KYC service, the integration does not transfer to it identification events created from the matter request. They are transferred to the KYC service only when the matter is created from the matter request.
