A new major version of CSI software is released annually, and a monthly update version is published to fix reported software errors. All new software versions are free of charge for customers. Major version updates are announced to customers’ power users by email. Update release notes can be found in the News section of the support site.
How your office receives new versions depends on the chosen installation package. It’s important to understand that each new version modifies the customer’s database. Therefore, all users in the office must use the same software version installed from the same installation package. When a power user updates the software on their computer to a new version, other users must also adopt the new version.
For small and medium-sized offices, it is convenient to download new versions from CSI’s general product-specific installation package, available online after each release.
Larger offices typically do not want to update monthly and instead use a customer-specific installation package. This must be requested from CSI and stored in a location from where all new installations are made until the next version update.
Offices using an external IT provider often use an MSI package, which allows broader control of the installation process and distribution via tools such as Intune. This package must also be requested from CSI.

CSI creates and delivers installation packages to customers free of charge. If the customer wants CSI to perform the version update on their behalf, this is invoiced according to CSI’s price list. Version updates may also require updating integrations or mobile services in use. New major versions introducing new functionalities may change or break customizations made to the customer’s software, so it is recommended to verify their compatibility in advance.
Update versions usually take only a few minutes to install. Updating major versions typically requires 1–2 hours. During the update, users should be logged out of all CSI software, as entries or changes made during the process may not be saved.
