A critical task is a special type of activity that ensures important deadlines are visible to all users in the office-wide critical task calendar.
You can create a new critical task either in the Critical Task calendar or in the Activities folder by selecting a critical task as the activity type. If you add a critical task in the Activities folder, the critical task window differs slightly from the normal activity window:
- The priority of a critical task is always high.
- The person responsible for the critical task is selected in the Responsible field. Other persons involved in the critical task can be added to the Other Responsible Persons field.
- Critical tasks do not have Duration and Transaction fields because a transaction cannot be created from them. However, you can link task-type sub-activities to a critical task in the Activities folder and create transactions from them. The sub-tasks of a critical task are also linked to the critical task's Regarding field (e.g., to a matter or matter request). If a critical task is deleted, the tasks can either be deleted or left in the software.
- Created critical tasks are visible in the critical task calendar with the subject of the critical task.
You can also create a new critical task in the critical task calendar, which functions similarly to the calendar used for recording working hours.
To add a critical task, select a time slot in the calendar and write a description. You can modify the duration of the critical task by stretching the reservation with the mouse or by double-clicking to open it.
You can link a matter to the critical task by opening the Matters menu on the right side of the calendar. Once you have found the correct matter using the views and the Search function, you can drag it onto the critical task.
Using the filters above the calendar, you can search for critical tasks for a specific business area or responsible person if needed.
You can also mark a critical task as completed directly in the critical task calendar. When you hover the mouse pointer over the critical task, a green "Mark as done" button appears, and clicking it marks the critical task as completed (grey).
