If a periodically invoiced service package has been agreed with the customer, a subscription price can be defined for the matter in CSI Lawyer and CSI Professional, to be invoiced at specified intervals. The software will then automatically create fixed‑priced periodic transactions according to the settings, while still allowing you to record actual work on the matter. This information can then be used, for example, to monitor the profitability of the matter or to calculate employee performance bonuses. You can read more about subscription‑priced matters here.
You can create a subscription price for a matter in the matter’s Subscriptions folder.
- First ensure that the invoicing period is defined in the parameters of the business unit, customer, or matter (Invoicing > Invoicing period > Invoicing period to use).
- Create a new matter or open an existing one.
- Go to the matter’s Subscriptions folder and select New, which opens the Subscription window.
- Select the start date for the subscription and a suitable transaction type, if transaction types are in use at your firm.
- Modify the transaction subject and author of the transaction if needed. The fixed‑priced transaction will be recorded for the selected author.
- Define the amount of the periodic fee in the Invoicing Information fields.
- Define whether the subscription price repeats daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. The detailed fields will adjust according to your choice.
- Set an end date for the recurrence if applicable, and save.
