Please note that although the new CSI Mobile can be downloaded to mobile devices from app stores, it will only be ready for use after it has been activated at the company level. This article and its attachments provide all the information you need to complete the activation.
To use CSI Mobile, the CSI API (application programming interface) is activated for the customer’s database. This enables secure communication between software components—for example, when retrieving data or performing actions. This introduces certain prerequisites related to the CSI software for all customers, as well as a few additional requirements for OnPremise customers, whose database is hosted in their own server environment.
The actions required from the customer are as follows:
Prerequisites for all customers
Before starting the activation, every customer must ensure that their CSI software version and system environment meet the following activation prerequisites:
- Minimum CSI software version: Make sure that your office’s CSI software version is at least 12.1 (from June 2025) or newer.
- Integrity of the CSI database: Ask CSI to fix free of charge any foreign key errors related to data integrity in the database.
- Users’ email addresses in the CSI software: Ensure that an email address has been added to the user information of all active CSI users. Users are invited to become CSI Mobile users by sending an invitation to the email address specified in the CSI software.
NOTE! If the CSI software contains customized fields or add-ons that, for example, set certain fields as mandatory, the CSI API cannot yet process these, and such customizations are not available in CSI Mobile.
Additional preparations required from OnPremise customers
OnPremise customers must also:
- Create a new SQL Login for the CSI API
- Ensure that the office’s SQL Server version is supported by the CSI API
- Verify the security of the SQL server
- Allow network connectivity through firewall configuration or via an Azure relay service
- Provide the necessary information to CSI to initiate the activation

CSI Mobile Activation Tasks
Once CSI has initiated the activation, the process proceeds in the same way regardless of whether the customer’s database is in the cloud or on their own server.The office’s CSI Mobile admin creates the connection between CSI Mobile and the CSI database, and then invites other users to become CSI Mobile users.
