By default, time spent on a transaction can be recorded with one‑minute accuracy, but a different rounding precision can also be defined for entering hours. This setting can be configured at the following levels, from weakest to strongest: 1) the user’s business unit, 2) the matter’s business unit, 3) the user, 4) the customer, and 5) the matter. The available transaction duration steps are 6, 12, 15, and 30 minutes, and the setting is defined in the parameters of each level (Transaction > Transaction Parameters > Transaction duration step).
A minimum duration can also be set for a transaction at the following levels, from weakest to strongest: 1) business unit, 2) user, 3) customer, and 4) matter. This setting is also defined in the parameters of each level
(Transactions > Transaction Parameters > Minimum billable (h) of transaction).
Each user can likewise define the rounding precision and minimum duration applied to the transactions they record. This is done by clicking their name in the lower‑right corner of the software window and selecting the parameters marked with a gear icon. Both parameters can be found in the Transaction Parameters group.
User‑level parameters govern transaction entry when no stronger rounding or minimum‑duration rule has been defined at the customer or matter level.
