Why Entra ID?

Microsoft Entra ID is a cloud-based identity and access management service. Activation of the Entra ID authentication enhances security of CSI Lawyer as users log on to the software using their Entra ID accounts.

Once the authentication is activated, you can no longer log in with a username/password combination or a domain account. Therefore, it is vital that all CSI users have a working Entra ID account.

Activation of the Entra ID authentication

• Using your organization’s Entra ID account, log in to https://auth.csihelsinki.fi/.
• Add a new database by selecting New Connection, fill in the information and select Create.

• If SQL login is used to create a database connection, choose to the Authentication field “Username and password”, and add the SQL login name to the Username field and the SQL login’s password to the Password field.

• In CSI Lawyer, make sure that at least the Power User has an Entra ID account added in their user information. Go to the Settings > Users > double click a user to open the user window > Fill the “Entra ID Username” field.

• Next, go to the Settings, System parameters (> Integration > Microsoft Integration) and enable “Use Entra ID for Login” by clicking on “Value (system)” until it turns green.

• Restart the CSI software.
• Find your company's Entra ID organization and select it
  
  
• Log in with your Entra ID account.
